ALGAE PROTOCOL // PHASE-ZERO

01 // ABSTRACT

This document defines the Phase-Lock Fabrication Standard for bioluminescent algal respiration systems. It translates the fluid dynamics of Pyrocystis fusiformis bioluminescence into discrete engineering tolerances.

Purpose: To eliminate "metaphorical" error margins in colony life-support design. We do not celebrate the mistake; we calculate the tolerance that prevents it.

Source Data: Derived from NASA Baseline Q179924 (Algal Breath Engine) & Alfred Rosenberg's Breath Observatory (O₂ Flux).

02 // PHYSICAL CONSTANTS

VARIABLE SPECIFICATION TOLERANCE CITATION
CO₂ Diffusion Coeff. 1.94 × 10⁻⁵ cm²/s ±0.02% WIKI:FICK_LAWS
Luciferase Activation 420–470 nm (Peak 450) WD:Q179924
O₂ Partial Pressure 21.0 kPa (Standard) REF:ROSENBERG_OBS
Cell Density Threshold 1.5 × 10⁶ cells/mL LOCAL:BREATH_V1

03 // FAILURE MODES & TOLERANCES

The following deviations trigger immediate system shutdown. No graceful degradation allowed.

FAILURE MODE TRIGGER VALUE PROTOCOL RESPONSE
Hypoxic Collapse < 18.5 kPa VENT: Purge chamber with N₂ buffer
Bioluminescent Drift > 50 nm variance DAMPEN: Reduce excitation voltage by 12%
Carbon Saturation > 0.04% vol SCAVENGE: Activate Phase-II scrubbers
⚠ WARNING: Deviation > 0.02% in CO₂ diffusion coeff indicates membrane rupture. System integrity compromised. Evacuate sector.

04 // INTEGRATION MAP

This protocol is designed to interface with the Algal Breath Engine (local implementation) and the Breath Observatory (town-wide network).
